Nutrio is built to help you pay attention to what you eat without feeling watched. We collect as little as we can, we never sell your data, and everything below is written to be read — not to be survived.
You own your journal. We store the foods and meals you log so we can show them back to you and sync them across your devices. We use a few privacy-respecting tools to keep the app working and to understand what's broken. That's the whole shape of it — the detail follows.
Your account basics — the email address or phone number you sign in with, and which method you used. Your journal — the foods, meals, portions and notes you add, plus the daily and weekly totals we calculate from them. Your calorie-baseline details, if you choose to calculate one — sex, birth year, height, weight, activity level, and the goal you pick (lose, maintain or gain weight, with a pace for losing). These are used only to compute your daily calorie and macro targets. And a little technical context — app version, device type and anonymised crash reports — so we can fix problems quickly.
If you connect Apple Health on iOS, we read your daily Active Energy total (to top up your budget on active days) and your body weight (so a weight change updates your calculated baseline). Nothing else is read, and you can turn this off in Apple Health at any time.
We do not collect your contacts, your location, or anything from other apps unless you explicitly connect them.
Nutrio is not a medical service, and we are not doctors, dietitians or certified nutrition professionals. Calorie baselines, goal adjustments and macro targets are computed with well-known published formulas and mainstream health-authority guidance — they are general estimates, not advice for your personal situation. If you feel unwell, have a medical condition or an eating-disorder history, are pregnant, or are planning a significant change to your diet, please talk to a doctor or a registered dietitian first. We strongly recommend it.
If you connect Nutrio to Claude, you decide what access to grant on the consent screen. With your permission, Claude can read your saved foods, meals and daily balance, and — if you allow it — add or edit meals on your behalf. Claude never receives your password, and a connection can be revoked at any time from your Nutrio settings, which immediately ends that access.
You can edit or delete any entry whenever you like. You can export your data, and you can delete your account and everything in it from settings — we honour erasure requests in line with the GDPR. If you'd rather ask a human, the contact details are below.
We keep your journal for as long as your account is open. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data from our live systems promptly and from backups within 30 days.
